Find My Past

FindMyPast.com for Canadian and US War Bride Passenger Lists.

Canadian War Bride passenger lists from 1946-47 are available on line from a number of reliable sources.

Be forewarned: Canadian lists from travel during the war years up to December, 1945, are, for the most part, not transcribed and are only available on microfilm through the Library and Archives Canada, in Ottawa, Ontario. They can be ordered through inter-library loan.

Find My Past

FindMyPast.com has most of the 1946-47 War Bride Passenger Lists transcribed and they are available on line for a fee. The service is easy to use and can yield fabulous results, not just for War Brides but for anyone searching for their immigrant ancestors because they have such a huge inventory of other passenger lists as well as birth, death, marriage certificates from around the world.

Debbie Beavis

Debbie Beavis is a specialist in British passenger records who runs www.passengerlists.co.uk. Debbie discovered the war bride collection some years ago in among several thousand other boxes at the British National Archives. She has transcribed the names and details from these wonderful old documents and they are available on line for a fee.
