The table below refers to the transportation of Canadian War Brides from August 1944, when the Department of National Defense took over transportation of servicemens' dependents, to January 1947, and the sailing of the last War Bride ship, the Aquitania.

During this time, the DND moved 61,334 dependents at an average cost of $140.29. This cost included transportation in UK, ocean transportation and meals, train fares, berth and meals to destination in Canada, as well as hostelization and hospitalization enroute.
