number of War Brides sailed for Canada . I hope it will

______________
New Brunswick MLA First to Introduce Private Members Motion
In New Brunswick, MLA TJ Burke's grandmother, Jean Paul, was a British war bride who marrried his grandfather, Charles Paul, in 1943. Jean and her baby daughter Christine came to Canada on the War Bride ship SS Aquitania, arriving in Halifax on May 21, 1946. They went by War Bride train to McAdam, NB where they were met by the Roman Catholic priest who brought them by canoe to the Tobique Indian Reserve in northern New Brunswick. Jean's story was featured in the BBC Radio 4 documentary "The Pilgrim Brides" in April, 2005. TJ Burke is New Brunswick's first Native Member of the Provincial Legislature and we're sure his grandmother would be proud of him!
